Candidate Conversations is a community-focused municipal election event open to all residents, designed to give voters a clearer sense of the people seeking leadership roles on their local council. Rather than a traditional debate, the event will feature a moderated, fireside-style conversation with candidates for Huron County Council. The discussion will explore local priorities, challenges and opportunities, along with broader issues affecting Huron County and the relationship between municipal and county government.

The format is intentionally conversational. Candidates will respond to questions from the moderator and have an opportunity to explain their priorities, perspectives and approach to municipal leadership. The goal is to create a useful and respectful discussion that goes beyond short campaign statements, while giving residents a better understanding of how candidates think about the issues facing their community.

Candidate Conversations also includes Candidate Connections, an opportunity for all candidates running for municipal office to participate and connect directly with residents. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet candidates informally, ask questions and learn more about those seeking to represent them before voting in the 2026 municipal election.

Candidate Conversations is presented by the Huron Chamber of Commerce to support informed participation in local democracy. Everyone is welcome to attend, and no registration or Chamber membership is required. Additional information about the format, participating municipalities and the full event schedule is available on the Candidate Conversations page.
