Nearly 100 guests representing local business, organizations and government gathered at Beach Street Station for the first live Mayor’s Luncheon in three years.

“Today you will see we are laying the foundation for affordable housing, forward-thinking environmental initiatives and creative, vibrant public spaces,” said Goderich Mayor John Grace in his keynote address. His speech touched on the waterfront redevelopment, Coast Goderich housing development, COVID recovery, grants to community groups, airport long-term sustainability, Goderich harbour expansion and support services.

“Community building is a team game,” he said.

Mayor Grace also invited two guests speakers to join him on the program: Erinn Lawrie, who is director of The Lake Huron Coastal Centre and Chair of the town’s Environmental Action Committee; and Michael Maxwell, who is a strong advocate for affordable, attainable housing.

Did you miss the Goderich Mayor’s Luncheon. Not to worry. It will soon be available for viewing on Huron Chamber of Commerce – Goderich, Central and North Huron’s YouTube Channel.
