Your website is live. But is it actually doing its job?
Your website doesn’t need to be flashy, complicated or completely rebuilt to work harder for your business.
Sometimes, a clearer headline, easier navigation, stronger call-to-action or a few smart SEO updates can make a meaningful difference in how people find your business, understand what you offer and decide to take the next step.
Website Reality Check is a practical, hands-on workshop for small business owners who want to take a fresh look at their current website and identify what’s working, what’s getting in the way and what they can improve.
Led by digital strategist and web designer Meg Pearson of Rebel Soul Media, this session will break down the four jobs a strong business website needs to do:
Get Found: Learn foundational SEO, how search engines understand your website, the role of your Google Business Profile and where content like blogs can fit into your search strategy.
Get Understood: Take a closer look at your homepage messaging, headlines and navigation so visitors can quickly understand who you help, what you offer and why it matters.
Build Trust: Explore how website structure, testimonials, photography, content and user experience can help potential customers feel more confident choosing your business.
Get Action: Make it easier for visitors to know what to do next with clearer calls-to-action and a more intentional customer journey.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Put your homepage through the 5-second test
- Spot common website mistakes that may be confusing or losing visitors
- Write stronger headlines and website copy
- Apply foundational SEO without getting buried in technical jargon
- Make your website easier to navigate
- Use testimonials, photos and content to strengthen trust
- Create clearer calls-to-action

You’ll leave with:
- A clearer understanding of what your website needs to accomplish
- A list of priority improvements for your own site
- Practical SEO, messaging and conversion strategies you can continue using
- Meaningful progress already made during the session
