Come learn about the Farmerettes!
Farmerettes were young women, typically high school-aged, who worked on Ontario farms during and after World War II through programs like the Ontario Farm Service Force. These programs were created to address wartime labor shortages by recruiting women to perform essential farm work, such as harvesting crops and canning. These young women helped keep Canadian farms running and contributed vital food supplies for the war effort.
