GODERICH – Plans for the Huron Chamber of Commerce Charity Golf Tournament are in full swing.
Gather your friends or co-workers and register for a fun afternoon of golfing 18 holes, followed by a steak dinner at Woodlands Links Golf Course on Friday, Aug. 19. Tournament title sponsor HuronTel has chosen Huron Hospice as the charity of choice for this event.
“We’re building on the success of last year’s back-from-the-pandemic golf tournament, which was a lot of fun,” said Tom Williscraft, Golf Tournament Chair. “There are so many ways to participate, whether you’re a golfer, a sponsor, a volunteer, or you just want to join us after golf for awards and dinner.”
The tournament begins with a noon shotgun start. New this year, golfers will compete for various bragging rights, including Men’s Longest Drive, Women’s Longest Drive, Men’s Closest to the Pin, Women’s Closest to the Pin, Closest to the Line. They will also receive swag and prizes donated by local businesses.
To register or learn more about sponsorship opportunities, please visit the Chamber’s website huronchamber.ca or call the office at 519-440-0176. Registration deadline is Aug. 9.
The Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament’s title sponsor is Hurontel, with offices in Goderich, Wingham, Ripley and Kincardine.
“We’re pleased to once again be title sponsor of this golf tournament. It’s always a lot of fun and a good opportunity to spend a summer’s day with friends and colleagues. As an added bonus, it’s an opportunity for us, together with the Chamber, to raise funds for charity. This year, we’ve chosen Huron Hospice, which provides much needed palliative care for our rural communities,” said Ryan McClinchey, General Manager, HuronTel.
Major sponsors are Goderich Toyota, Goderich Honda, Compass Minerals and Coast Goderich.
