The Huron Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a new partnership with Better Business Bureau, SW Ontario that will provide added value for Chamber members and create new opportunities for collaboration between the two organizations.
Through the partnership, Huron Chamber members that apply and qualify for BBB Accreditation will be eligible for a 15 per cent discount on their first-year accreditation fees. The discount gives members another practical way to save money through their Chamber membership, while supporting businesses that choose to pursue BBB Accreditation as part of their commitment to trust, transparency, and customer confidence.
The partnership will also create a visible connection between the Chamber’s online business directory and BBB Accreditation. Chamber members that are also BBB Accredited Businesses will be identified in the Huron Chamber business directory with a BBB logo, helping consumers, partners, and other businesses recognize members that have completed BBB’s separate accreditation process.
“The Chamber’s role is to support, connect, and advocate for our members, while the Better Business Bureau plays an important role in helping businesses demonstrate trust and accountability in the marketplace,” said Colin Carmichael, Executive Director of the Huron Chamber of Commerce. “This partnership gives our members access to a meaningful discount, while also allowing our directory to better reflect businesses that have taken the additional step of becoming BBB Accredited. It is another practical way Chamber membership can deliver value.”
“We are pleased to partner with the Huron Chamber of Commerce to support businesses across Huron County,” said Jennifer Matthews, CEO of Better Business Bureau, SW Ontario. “Chambers help businesses connect with their local business community and advocate on behalf of their members. BBB Accreditation supports businesses in demonstrating how they do business, including their commitment to ethical practices, standards of trust, and customer confidence. These roles are different, but they work very well together.”
The Huron Chamber business directory includes members from across Huron County and serves as a public-facing resource for people looking to find and support local businesses. The addition of BBB recognition will give directory users another helpful point of information while preserving the distinct roles of the two organizations. Chamber membership reflects a business’s participation in the local business community. BBB Accreditation reflects a separate application and review process administered by the Better Business Bureau.
For businesses, the partnership is intended to be practical as well as collaborative. Huron Chamber members will be able to access the discount when applying for BBB Accreditation, with details to be shared directly with members once the application process and discount code are finalized. Businesses must still meet BBB’s accreditation standards in order to become BBB Accredited.
The Chamber and BBB also expect to explore additional opportunities for collaboration, including education, member resources, webinars, podcast conversations, and business support initiatives. Both organizations serve businesses in different ways, and the partnership creates new opportunities to connect members with resources that support credibility, visibility, and long-term business success.
For businesses considering Chamber membership, the new BBB discount adds to a growing list of member benefits, including advocacy, networking, events, promotional opportunities, affinity programs, and access to resources that support business success across Huron County.
More information on how Huron Chamber members can access the BBB Accreditation discount will be shared directly with members.
